“My intention is to inspire you to explore your creativity and allow your light to shine brightly in the world.” -Asia Morgenthaler
Asia’s paintings explore the relationship between: art and spirituality; the Feminine and nature; creativity and intention. She begins each painting with an intention or an inquiry written directly on the canvas. The canvas becomes a portal or playground for self expression, exploration, and transformation.
Asia grew up rebelling against her parents’ expectations; in the process, she lost sight of herself. The birth of her first child awakened her and she began taking baby steps toward reconnecting with herself: mothering her biological daughters and re-mothering her inner child simultaneously.
She stumbled upon art as a form of creative expression in her Art as a Sacred Practice class her first semester in the M.A. of Women’s Spirituality program. During the course of her studies, she came tête-à-tête with the transformative aspects and the healing powers of creating with intention. Her master’s thesis: A descent journey of reconciliation with the inner mother and revisualization of the Divine Feminine, showcased 13 of her paintings. Upon graduation, she felt called to hold women circles in helping other women create intentionally while tapping into their own inner knowing.
My workshops are designed to guide you in a step-by-step process so you can let go of your inner critic, create from your heart space in a supportive environment.
“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” – C. G. Jung
Asia came upon yoga as a healing practice. To her pleasant surprise, yoga is another medium/canvas for self-study (svadhyaya). The yoga asanas move our bodies in new ways, creating new pathways within; the focus on breath brings awareness inward; unlocking blocks and freeing ourselves to become more receptive to our inner voice; creating the ideal environment for self-discovery and the creative process.
